How to add student emails

If you import using CSV (don't use Wonde)

If you import your data using a CSV file at the start of the of the year, you simply need to add emails to this file. If you have already imported this year, you can repeat the process.

If you use Wonde

If your data is automatically imported via wonde, you will need to enable emails on both STEER and Wonde. We know this can be a bit of the pain, but this two-way control stops companies just taking whatever data they want, so it's essential for GDPR!

⚙️ Enable emails in your STEER import settings

Go to Admin --> Data Management --> Import settings

Then, you can change this setting:

You can choose whether to just import emails, or to make them students' usernames as well. It's up to you.

 

🔐 Enable emails in Wonde

If you are already using Wonde with STEER, then you will just need to edit them, not set them up from scratch.

🔄 Sync your data

Now that emails are switched on in both STEER and Wonde, the next time your data is synced, emails will be present.

It's up to you whether you want to wait for this to happen automatically (Synced weekly during school year, and on 17-14th of September/January at the start of your new year).
