This is a tricky one because when we fill out a questionnaire, we all want to know what it says about us!
The problem is that your students are still developing, and their data will change from assessment to assessment. Giving feedback runs the risk of a student misinterpreting scores, and feeling judged, labelled or that they can’t change.
We’ve developed a sophisticated dashboard to help you, as professionals, interpret this data to avoid these risks, and draw the right conclusions. It would be ambitious and perhaps a little naive to expect the same of your students.
However, by the age of 15, we believe they’re more prepared to do this. That’s why we’ve developed Take the Wheel! Take the Wheel is our new tool for Y11s, which gives them feedback about their STEER Journey to date. It’s designed to build your students' metacognition and self-efficacy.
Firstly, they’ll gain an understanding of how they’ve been steering each of the four factors from the age of 8 to 15.
Secondly, they’ll learn skills which will help them steer as they transition into sixth form or college.
