Why do schools do this?
Due to the nature of the STEER assessment data, we find new schools are reassured with the use of pseudonymised student name data to begin their journey, as an additional data protection measure. As trust in STEER grows, schools often make the switch to full names, especially in large schools, which makes reading the assessment data much easier for school staff.
Therefore:
- As a company STEER's default is for pseudonymise student names
- Your school has opted to use pseudonymise names
- If you feel full names would be beneficial please discuss with your Senior Practitioner who can contact us for further details of how to make that possible
